We think the best way to develop wise users of our natural resources is through education. Every year, we reach more than 25,000 students through stimulating, age-appropriate and fun-filled educational experiences in the classroom, on a field trip—and even on a boat.
For eight weeks starting January 9, more than 4,000 students from across our service area will climb aboard the 90-foot research vessel Robert G. Brownlee. They’ll chart a course up the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta for a half-day adventure to learn about the primary source of their drinking water. The ship is owned and operated by the Marine Science Institute of Redwood City.
The Delta Discovery Voyage is one of the programs offered through Contra Costa Water District’s Water Education Program. Click here to learn more about the Water Education Program.
