Don’t Let Your Savings Evaporate! Install a Pool Cover and Get a Rebate

Start Stop Service

Summer and pool weather are officially here! If you have a pool, the best way to reduce water loss from evaporation is to use a pool cover. Water in your pool can evaporate more than 1.75 inches every week during the peak of summer. In just one week during the summer, an average pool owner can save 330 gallons by using a pool cover. Did you know that a pool cover can save as much water as a similarly sized lawn needs for irrigation over an entire year? Fortunately, Contra Costa Water District offers a rebate of up to $50 on qualifying pool covers!

Pool Cover Benefits

  • Save up to 8,000 gallons of water per year by reducing up to 95% of pool water loss
  • Reduce chemical use by up to 60%
  • Extend your swimming season by keeping the water temperature warmer for longer
  • Prevent leaves and other debris from entering the pool

Contra Costa Water District encourages customers with a pool to use a pool cover to save water and offers a rebate covering 100% of the cost of a qualifying pool cover up to a maximum of $50. Learn more about qualifying pool covers and how to apply for a Pool Cover Rebate.
